What Is QuantFlows

Before you touch anything, you need to understand one thing. Everything in this platform comes back to this: price moves when aggression overwhelms liquidity.

Price doesn't move because of patterns or indicators. Those are just visuals. Price moves because orders interact. There are only two forces in the market:

Limit orders (liquidity) — sitting in the book, waiting to be filled

Market orders (aggression) — actively hitting those orders to execute

If aggressive orders consume the available liquidity → price is forced to move

If liquidity absorbs that aggression → price stalls or reverses

You are not predicting price. You are observing:

How aggression behaves when it reaches it

Whether that level holds, breaks, or disappears

Price moves when aggression (market orders) overwhelms liquidity (limit orders). Price stalls or reverses when liquidity absorbs aggression.

Most traders assume: strong buying = price goes up. But if buying is strong and price doesn't move, the move is being absorbed. That mismatch — between effort and result — is where the edge is.

When you're watching price and volume, run it through this table:

High aggression + no movement = someone is absorbing. If volume is high but price won't move — that's absorption, not a breakout. If price moves fast with thin volume — that's a vacuum, not strength.

Why Does Price Actually Move

Support and resistance are not the cause. They are just a reflection of liquidity. Real structure is where capital is positioned — not where price reacted, but where positions were built, defended, or abandoned.

Large limit orders sitting in the book. A wall is not support or resistance. It is intent — until proven otherwise.

What matters is not the wall itself, but what happens when price reaches it. Walls can attract price, hold price, or mislead the market entirely.

Real size is often hidden. Instead of showing full size, orders refill as they get hit. This allows large players to execute without revealing intent. This is where real positioning happens — you won't see it directly.

Price fails to move despite repeated hits

That combination tells you one thing: someone is absorbing everything coming in.

Liquidity Structure is Market Structure

Liquidity is location. Order flow is action. Edge comes from the interaction between the two — not either alone.

Aggression is commitment. It shows who is willing to act right now. What matters is not a single trade, but behavior over time:

Size — how much conviction is behind it

Consistency — whether one side is in control

One large trade means nothing. Sustained aggression is what defines real intent.

Aggression hits a level, but price does not move. This is one of the most important signals in the market. What's actually happening:

Breakout traders are entering aggressively

Larger players are taking the opposite side

This is position transfer. Weak hands are entering. Strong hands are building positions.

When effort is high but price doesn't move, it means the move is being absorbed.

After a move, aggression can start to fade. Signs:

This tells you participation is dropping. No new participants = no fuel for continuation.

If you cannot classify → you cannot trade.

Order Flow = Behavior at Liquidity

CVD measures net aggressive buying vs selling. It shows which side is pressing the market. But pressing does not mean winning. Price only moves if that pressure actually gets through liquidity.

CVD doesn't tell you direction. It tells you effort. What matters is when effort doesn't match result.

Effort doesn't match result. Buyers are aggressive but price doesn't rise. Sellers are aggressive but price doesn't fall. Their orders are being absorbed.

What's happening: traders think breakout, they enter aggressively, larger players take the other side. They are trapped. When those positions fail, they are forced to exit — and that exit becomes fuel in the opposite direction.

Divergence alone is not enough. It only matters when it happens at a key liquidity level. CVD + liquidity = the read.

Effort matches result. Buyers aggressive → price moves up. Sellers aggressive → price moves down. Liquidity is not resisting. There is nothing stopping the move. Continuation is valid.

One spike is not enough. You want to see sustained aggression pushing price forward consistently.

CVD spikes, but price stops progressing. Most of the move has already happened. Late traders are entering out of FOMO. There are no new participants left to continue the move.

Climax is not strength. It is usually the end.

CVD by itself is incomplete. You combine three things:

Order flow — how traders behave at that level

When all three align, you have a valid read. When only one or two line up, you wait.

CVD — Cumulative Volume Delta

Once recording is ON you'll see segment + snapshot counts climbing in the stored data panel. That means live order book data is being written to your drive. You need this for Replay.

Shows all resting limit orders stacked by price level

Thick colored blocks = walls — large orders acting as barriers

Empty zones with sparse orders = vacuum — price will move fast through these

Green bubble = buy market order fired. Red bubble = sell market order fired

Bigger bubble = bigger market order. Size matters

CVD tracks whether buyers or sellers are being more aggressive. CVD doesn't tell you direction. It tells you effort. What matters is when effort doesn't match result.

CVD rising + price rising = confirmation. Real move.

CVD rising + price flat = divergence. Buyers trapped. Reversal likely.

CVD spikes then flattens = exhaustion. Move is ending.

Wall History — shows historical liquidity walls overlaid on the chart

Cumulative Volume Delta — the CVD panel

Absorption — highlights price levels where absorption is detected

Iceberg Detection — flags levels where hidden orders appear to be refilling

Stacked Imbalance (LIVE) — detects one-sided order book imbalances in real time

The INT loading slider in the bottom left controls heatmap sensitivity. Slide it up to pick up more wall signals. Slide it down to filter out noise and show only the strongest walls.

To keep the live platform running smoothly, the order book history loads up to 5 hours back. If you want to study a longer period, use the Replay app — it loads data from your saved folder with no time limit.

QuantFlows Trading Desk

Replay is where you build skill. Load your recorded data and replay real market sessions at any speed. Study how absorption formed, where walls appeared, how CVD behaved — the actual tick data. No guessing, no reconstruction.

Click Open Folder and select the same folder you chose when enabling data saving in the Trading Desk. The app will read all recorded sessions from there.

Select the trading pair you want to study from the list. You'll see the recorded date range and total data size.

Choose how much data to load — Last 30m, 1h, 2h, 4h, 8h, or a custom time range using the calendar picker. Loading less data = faster render = smoother playback.

QuantFlows Replay

We're going to run through a Liquidity Sweep from start to finish. This is the most common setup and the best one to learn on.

Price is approaching a zone with heavy stacked bids. Sellers are hitting into it aggressively. Volume is high. But price won't go lower. CVD is dropping but price isn't following. Something is absorbing every sell order that comes in.

CVD is dropping = sellers being aggressive. Price moving up = wall absorbing. If this wall holds and structure breaks below, shorts are trapped and longs just got played. That's the full thesis. Entry, stop, target all flow from that one read. Do this on replay until it feels automatic. 5 reps of this beats reading 50 pages of theory.

The Playbook Cheatsheet

Aggressive breakout traders push price expecting a continuation, but large players are lying in wait with passive liquidity. This is not a rejection of price — it's a transfer of positions from weaker traders to stronger traders who control the book.

Liquidity here is stronger than it looks; it absorbs all the buying or selling without allowing price to move

Retail or momentum traders enter aggressively with market orders, hoping for the breakout

Institutional players place limit orders to absorb these market orders, letting retail fight themselves

The result is a controlled distribution of positions: weak hands get trapped, strong hands accumulate

Every aggressive order is met with an opposing limit order → no net imbalance → price stays put. The market is in temporary equilibrium, carefully controlled before a forced imbalance creates a strong move.

Enter only when the aggression slows, the price fails again, and the opposite side starts pushing.

Entry: first displacement away from trapped side

Stop Loss (SL): just beyond the last high/low of trapped-side spike

Take Profit (TP): prior liquidity zones or measured move opposite spike where trapped positions get released

BTC stalled around 72,000 between 18:45–20:15. The order book showed stacked sell liquidity — around 350–370 BTC sitting between 71,800 and 72,000. Buyers kept hitting into it but price couldn't move higher. That's absorption — sellers were sitting there the whole time, absorbing every buy order.

Around 20:20, price tried again and failed to break 72k. That was the signal. Once it lost 71,800, it turned into a clean breakdown. Below that level, liquidity had already thinned out — the largest bids were around 500 BTC near 70,300, too far below to support price. Price dropped fast to 70,800.

Most traders saw consolidation. This was distribution backed by real order flow.

Absorption Reversal

The market actively hunts for liquidity — usually stops placed above or below a visible level. This creates a spike that looks strong but is actually designed to extract orders, not continue a trend.

Stops = pools of liquidity that trigger predictable market moves

The market moves rapidly into these areas to collect liquidity

This is a spike with an aggression surge that absorbs weaker participants

Liquidity collected → no follow-through → failure

Wait for: sweep → return inside level → acceptance.

Stop Loss (SL): beyond extreme of liquidity sweep spike

Take Profit (TP): opposite side liquidity pools or previous support/resistance levels

The order book showed stacked bid liquidity — around 622 BTC sitting at 66.0k and 569 BTC at 65.9k. BTC swept below 66.2k around 19:10–20:30. Sellers pushed aggressively into the lows. Heavy sell volume printed and CVD dropped sharply — but price didn't continue lower.

That's the liquidity sweep. Sellers were getting trapped into strong bids. Around 21:00, price reclaimed 66.2k with no acceptance below — reversal confirmed. Once back above, the downside was closed. Price rotated up toward 67k by 23:50.

Most traders saw a breakdown and chased shorts. This was a stop hunt into stacked bids — trapped sellers drove the move up.

Liquidity Sweep

Liquidity is absent or not defending the breakout level. Orders get consumed quickly, and there's no resistance to slow the move → true imbalance.

Initial breakout consumes limit orders that would normally stop the move

No defensive liquidity appears → the move has real momentum

This creates a structural imbalance, ideal for continuation trades

Real breakout vs fake breakout can be measured by post-break behavior: if price holds and shows acceptance, it's real; if it fails quickly, it's fake.

Enter after price breaks, holds, and shows a shallow pullback.

Entry: after pullback confirms continuation

Stop Loss (SL): below/above break level or last local extreme

Take Profit (TP): next imbalance target or prior structural highs/lows

$196.7M in shorts destroyed on April 6. The order book showed it before it happened. 

577 BTC sitting at 66,838 — passive buyers stacked, not moving. That was the real floor.

4k market order hit at 22:00. First breakout. Price went sideways after from 00:00 – 05:00. Everyone thought the move was dead.

The book told a different story. Sell walls above were thinning every hour.

Then at 06:00, big market buy step in. Every sell wall above 68,000 got wiped. CVD spiked and never came back down.

Every time — limit wall wiped, didn't come back => sell can’t defend their position and get liquidated.

Breakout Continuation

The order book is extremely thin; few resting orders exist. Any aggressive push into this area causes rapid acceleration because there's almost no resistance.

Thin book → even small orders can move price significantly

Price accelerates until it hits a liquidity cluster or structural level

Momentum = absence of liquidity; you don't fight it, you enter it

Entry: transition into thin zone before acceleration starts

Stop Loss (SL): just outside the edge of the vacuum zone or prior consolidation

Take Profit (TP): next liquidity cluster or prior structural level; optional trailing stop for full capture

Don't jump in mid-move. The edge is the entry at the boundary, not inside the vacuum.

Vacuum Expansion

Market revisits prior levels to test liquidity and decision strength. These tests reveal whether prior buyers/sellers defend the level or if it's weak.

Price returns to the level; liquidity either absorbs the move or shows absence. This behavior tells you whether continuation or reversal is likely.

If the level holds → prior participants are defending. Continuation.

If the level breaks → the level is weak. Reversal likely.

Entry: first reaction at level; don't wait for confirmation

Stop Loss (SL): slightly beyond level tested

Take Profit (TP): prior highs/lows or liquidity clusters aligned with trend

Don't wait too long for confirmation. The edge is at the level — waiting for extra confirmation means you've already missed the entry.

Level Retest

A large wall appears, the market reacts to it, then the wall disappears. This is fake intent — someone baited a directional move and is now positioned against everyone who chased it.

A large visible wall appears in the order book

Traders react — expecting the wall to hold or act as resistance/support

The wall is pulled before price reaches it

Those who positioned against the wall are now trapped

The wall was never real intent. It was bait. Large players spoofed a level to attract orders, then removed it. The move that follows is fueled by the trapped side being forced to exit.

Entry: immediately after the wall vanishes — not before

Stop Loss (SL): beyond the level where the wall appeared

Take Profit (TP): opposite liquidity where trapped traders will be forced to exit

Don't trade the wall itself. Trade the disappearance. The wall is the setup. The pull is the signal.

BTC swept below 71,000. Stops triggered. Limit walls appeared stacked at 70,400. Sellers saw support — committed short expecting breakdown. 

Price touched 70,400. Both walls pulled instantly. Sellers already short. Price reversed. Trapped.

The moment walls disappeared — 222 market order fired. Whoever pulled those walls was already buying. 861 mid-recovery. 1.7k at 71,700 — biggest print of the session. 

Trapped sellers forced to cover all the way up. That covering became the fuel for a 1,700 point move in 90 minutes.

Price now at 72,099. 1.9k limit sell wall sitting at 73,100 — biggest on the entire book. Same question — is that wall real or getting pulled too? 1.5k+ market order breaks it → 73,500 open. Wall holds → rejection → 71,500.
